The city of Santo Domingo will host this year the famous international event Le Dîner en Blanc, which has been held in 80 cities in 30 countries. Those interested in participating must register, so that they can receive their invitation before October 2. This annual event offers an evening of elegance, beauty and unforgettable magic. It takes place in a secret public space whose location is only revealed a few minutes before the start of the event, with a completely white decoration and the guests are dressed in white. Hundreds of diners and fashion and culture enthusiasts will attend. Registration for the event has three phases: phase 1 is for members of the 2015 and 2016 edition; phase 2 is for new members who are recommended by the attendees of phase 1; and phase 3, which is for people who have registered on the waiting list on the website.
Fall and winter are full of life with the games of the professional baseball series, which take place at the stadiums of Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Francisco de Macorís, San Pedro de Macorís, and La Romana. At the moment, the games are scheduled from October 12 to December 17, but more games will be posted later on until January. At the end of the season, the winning team represents the country in the Caribbean Series, competing with Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Venezuela.
One of the ambassadors of the Mexican charros, the singer Alejandro Fernández, will perform at the Fillmore Hall in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. He is a winner of two Latin Grammys and three Billboard Awards. He is bringing his “Breaking Frontiers” show with the best hits from his lastest album. The album has been a gold and platinum record. It is regarded as one of the best contemporary pop albums in Latin music, with a mix of different rhythms such as ballads, pop ballads, and urban themes.
The Dominican Republic Jazz Festival now in its 23rd year is the longest running jazz event in the Dominican Republic. The event is a free, multi-day festival full of rhythm, flavor, and color held on the north coast and Punta Cana, featuring some of the World’s best Latin Jazz groups and musicians. The festival also brings music education to the region through its affiliation with FEDUJAZZ, a non-profit organization that conducts musical workshops for youth, which benefits more than 200 children. The Santiago Version will feature Pengbian Sang and Retro Jazz, followed by Arturo O’Farrill and The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (Mexico/USA).

Los Ilegales, a Dominican band with 26 years of musical experience, has received several international awards, in addition to reaching the Billboard Tropical charts.
In this cultural event open to the public, you will be able to discover the beauty of the Dominican monuments and patrimony through artistic programs at the museums and historic centers of the Colonial City, which will be open from 9:00am to 12:00am, free of charge. There will be a program with educational and artistic activities with live statues, Christmas music, concerts, Dominican folklore, ballet, book sales, children’s workshops and guided tours.
The seventh edition of the Mirabal Sisters Cultural Festival will be dedicated to the peoples of Spain and Santiago de los Caballeros. It will be held in the Municipality of Salcedo, Mirabal Sisters Province. It seeks the promotion of a culture of peace, coexistence, solidarity and economic, political and social development. It is a reaffirmation of the artistic values, traditions, customs and history of the province. The main areas of the festival are music, folklore, painting, theater, poetry, choral groups, sculpture, crafts, gastronomy, dance, tenth poetry and others.
The 23rd version of the Ecotourism and Production Fair will be held in the Cuevas del Pomier, San Cristóbal and is organized by the Science and Art Foundation. It seeks the rescue of natural and cultural heritage, the development of ecotourism and sustainable production. It has as invited countries the State of Qatar and the Republic of Guatemala, as well as the Haitian commune of Savanette. Each will have a pavilion to show their natural and cultural wealth. It includes conferences, exhibitions, talks, artistic presentations from different communities, exhibitions of paintings, crafts, music and a fashion show. It will have 174 pavilions, 24 restaurants and 16 beverage booths. In addition, business tables will be held to discuss vital aspects for the economic development of the province.

In a powerful combination of the best Hispanic rock and romantic pop song, the Mexican band Maná and the Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz will join exclusively in “Singing for Punta Cana”, at the Cana Bay Golf Course of the Hard Rock Punta Cana Hotel & Casino. Maná and Alejandro will join their voices to raise awareness about the importance and impact of tourism for the Dominican Republic, in addition to delivering their greatest hits to tourists who prefer that part of the country for vacations, for its hospitality and its beautiful landscapes.
The inauguration of the renovated Museum of Modern Art, with the closing and awarding of the prizes for the winning works of the Twenty-Ninth Biennial of Visual Arts is scheduled for December 17. The date coincides strategically with the Day of the Plastic Artist. For the biennial, about 600 works were received in the categories of painting, sculpture, drawing, graphic work, photography, video, multimedia, ceramics, installation, performance and mixed media. This edition is dedicated to the artist Orlando Menicuchi and the special guest artist will be José (Chichí) García Cordero. There will have a program of parallel events that includes individual and collective exhibitions, performances, conferences, colloquiums and guided visits, educational workshops, as well as an interactive meeting between artists and spectators. The biennial extends until March.
